Delete your UpadhiSetu account

In plain language

  • You can ask us to permanently delete your account and the personal data attached to it, at any time, for free.
  • Submit the form below with the mobile number you signed in with, or email support@upadhisetu.com.
  • We verify the request against that number before deleting anything, so nobody can delete someone else's account.
  • Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

How to request deletion

There is no delete button inside the app yet. Until there is, deletion is handled by our support team — use either route below and we will action it.

Option 1 — Submit the form

Fill in the mobile number registered to your account. Nothing else is required.

The number you use to sign in to UpadhiSetu.
Optional — helps us match the account faster.
Optional — otherwise we reply by SMS or call.
Optional. It does not affect your request.

Request received. We will verify it against the registered number and delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner. If we need anything from you, we will get in touch first.

Option 2 — Email us

Send an email to support@upadhisetu.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request” and your registered mobile number in the message.

What gets deleted

When we action your request, the following are permanently removed:

  • Your account and sign-in credential (your phone number)
  • Your profile — name, village, district, date of birth, skills and photo
  • Your job applications, including any team roster you submitted
  • Any job posts you created, and the applications to them
  • Your chat messages and conversations
  • Your notifications
  • Ratings and reviews you wrote

What may be retained, and why

A small amount of data may be kept after deletion where the law requires it or where removing it would harm someone else:

  • Ratings you received may remain attached to the job in an anonymised form, so the other party's record stays accurate.
  • Transaction and audit records may be retained for up to 90 days, or longer where required for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, safety investigations or a legal or regulatory obligation.
  • Backups roll off on their own schedule; deleted data is removed from backups as those expire.

How long it takes

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, and in practice usually much sooner. We will contact you if we cannot verify the request from the details you provide.

Before you go

If you have work in progress, consider finishing or withdrawing it first. Once the account is deleted, applications and posts disappear for the other party too, and any conversation you were having ends without explanation on their side.
